Project Description: 

The Austin Company provided architectural programming, design, engineering and construction services for Southern California Edison’s information technology call center in Rancho Cucamonga, California. Within a seven week period of time, Austin provided:

  • Installation of 3.5 miles of fiber optic cable
  • 800 switched Ethernet drops with 110 miles of cabling
  • Configuration of over 1000 PC’s, monitors, faxes and printers

The “building within a building” included five information technology phone rooms with routers. New infrastructure included a dedicated switchboard, automatic transfer switch, engine generator set and new chilled water plant, with local room-mounted air handling units for the raised floor area.
