Florida Bread Selects The Austin Company to Master Plan New Bakery Facility in Taiwan

New baking production facility will improve efficiency and increase production.

Florida Bread (www.bread.com.tw/), a 67-year-old bakery in Taipei, Taiwan, is growing rapidly and needs a new production facility that consolidates operations, improves efficiency and increases production.

Florida Bread has engaged the United States’ leading bakery design-builder, The Austin Company (www.theaustin.com), to provide master planning services for the new facility design and process equipment layout. Austin’s team visited Taipei over the summer to gain an understanding of existing operations and the site for the new facility.

The new production facility will total 5,000 square-meters (approximately 54,000 SF) once complete.

Florida Bread produces specialty-baked goods, including breads, flatbreads, tortillas, cookies and cake. Their products are sold in several company owned bakery-cafes in Taipei. In addition, Florida Bread sells products to restaurants and supermarkets, including Costco.
