Design-build project in partnership with Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems honored for design and construction that met and exceeded owner expectations.
Melbourne, FL; November 6, 2014 – The Austin Company, in partnership with Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems, has been recognized by the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) Florida Region for their work on .
Building 228 was selected in the 2014 DBIA Florida Region Design-Build Awards with a Merit Award in the Industrial/Process/Research Facilities Category. The submission was rigorously judged by a panel of owners and DBIA professionals and is honored for design and construction that meets and exceeds owner expectations.
Bill Trillo, Director of Facilities Site Management East with Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems, stated:
“The fast track, design-build project, resulting from 42 weeks of construction activity … is a testimony to the dedicated hard work of The Austin Company A/E and Construction Management staff and their many trade contractors. An extraordinary accomplishment, proving anything can be achieved when there is a shared goal and singular team approach.”
Winning projects were carried out under a single-responsibility contract and demonstrated successful application of design-build best practices. The Austin Company provided full planning, design, engineering and construction management services for this project.
DBIA’s Florida Region Design-Build Awards were recently recognized at Design-Build 2014, the 9th Annual Conference of the DBIA Florida Region in Orlando, Florida.
