Overview
This position reports directly to the VP of Finance. The Payroll Clerk will support office and field staff by maintaining employee records, time sheets, processing weekly paychecks and monthly Union reporting. This position is responsible for the day to day data entry, payment processing and file maintenance of Payroll. This position works closely with Construction Field Staff regarding time sheet processing.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage E-mail communications regarding time sheets and employee records for both Union and Job Org staff
- Collect and forward Job Org timesheets to Corporate weekly
- Process Job Org time sheets for cost allocations
- Reconcile Job Org Cost with Corporate monthly invoice
- Accurately and timely process Union time sheets daily
- Process cost transfers as directed weekly
- Process weekly Tax and Garnishment payments
- Maintain and process the Equipment log for invoicing weekly
- Research and resolve Union requests
- Resolve Payroll discrepancies accurately
- Update Union rates annually
- Prepare and process monthly Union reports and payments
- Respond to employment verification requests
- Maintain high level of employee confidence and confidentiality
- Setup and maintain paper and electronic employee files
- Maintain Manhour records
- Assist Accounting Manager as assigned
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Accounting required, or 2 years minimum Payroll experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including but not limited to Outlook, Word and Excel
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact with tact and courtesy
- High degree of attention to detail
- High level of organization skills
- Ability to think critically
- Able to work independently and prioritize tasks
- Able to work with tight deadlines
