Automotive OEM Trim and Final Shop Expansion
Confidential Automotive Client

The Austin Company provided design, engineering and construction administration for the building expansion, parking lot expansion and additional railroad spur for the production plant of an automotive OEM in Tennessee.
Austin was engaged to perform services for this major manufacturing plant, expanding the trim and final shop to over 76,000 SF to support the production of their new large-size vehicle.
The project included:
- The Market Delivery Options building expansion, which added approximately 27,000 SF of new space and included minor remodeling of the existing space to separate one large space into two individual shops.
- A parking lot expansion of almost 700 spots, consisting of grading, concrete paving, lighting, drainage, striping and guardrail installation.
- A railroad spur expansion, adding a sixth rail of 1,900 linear feet to the existing five rail spurs, and was designed to meet Norfolk Southern specifications.
The project provided significant benefit to the local operations to support the production increase. Peak production is 45 jobs per hour on the new line.
