The Austin Company® is providing design-build services for a 40,000 SF, single-story expansion of a confidential snack food production facility in Texas, with work initiated in August 2024 and completion targeted for late 2026. The project scope consists of the relocation of an existing tortilla chip process line and packaging system, along with the installation of new processing and packaging equipment in coordination with Heat & Control, the primary equipment vendor. A critical element of the expansion involved upgrading legacy finishes and unsanitary conditions to meet hygienic design standards required for a ready-to-eat product line. Additional scope includes expansions to the facility’s oil and clean-in-place (CIP) systems, as well as upgrades to HVAC, controls, and low-voltage systems. Austin’s design-build delivery and direct coordination with plant operations and equipment vendors enabled precise scheduling of construction within an active production environment to minimize downtime.
