Bob Evans Farms decided to expand its existing USDA meat processing operations, incorporating ready-to-eat products and other prepared foods. During the initial evaluation, Austin collaborated with the Owner to create comparative conceptual layouts for the expansion and renovations. Once the final layout was established, Austin refined the design, addressing modifications to existing support systems, waste treatment, and new utility requirements. The food-safe design adhered to AMI’s guidelines, emphasizing efficient product and personnel movement. Separate areas were designated for employee donning and doffing, and distinct ventilation and refrigeration systems prevented allergen cross-contamination. The expanded facility includes linear oven lines, production space for ready-to-eat products, and additional hot-fill and cold-fill lines.
