The Austin Company was engaged by a confidential manufacturing client in the southeast to expand production capabilities through the addition of a new product line and building expansion. Austin’s scope began with a building assessment to validate the adequacy of existing utilities and production space, followed by a two-part process consisting of conceptual planning and preliminary design across all disciplines, including process engineering, architecture, civil, structural, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing. Following the planning phase, Austin’s in-house architects, engineers, and construction managers developed preliminary design documents and subsequently prepared final construction documents for permitting, procurement, and construction. Key services included construction administration during the build phase, with the design project manager coordinating all technical requirements, mapping deliverables, and prioritizing long-lead item documentation to maintain an efficient project timeline. The phased approach—from building assessment through conceptual planning to final construction documents—enabled the client to validate scope and budget alignment at each stage before committing to the next phase of execution.
