Fair Oaks Foods, the 11th largest Black-owned business in the U.S., is building a new 150,000 SF bacon production plant in Davenport, IA, with The Austin Company as the design-builder. The site was chosen for its skilled workforce, proximity to suppliers, and potential for expansion after evaluating 177 locations. COO Joseph M. Freda emphasized the importance of trust and integrity in their partnerships. The plant will create 250 jobs and produce 15,000 cases of cooked goods weekly. Additionally, it will refine cooked-off grease for sale, turning a disposal cost into profit.
